Case Study: Montages - Working with the Customer

We'd like to give you an idea of the steps that are involved in the creation of a montage.

Artist's Insight

First, as always, the customer sends us their photos. We then get in touch over the phone for a chat. We like to find out a bit about the person who will be receiving the montage - what's their favourite (and least favourite) colour, what's important to them. We also like a bit of info about the original pictures if at all possible, ie: who the people are, and what connects them to the recipient.

We do all this because we want our montages to be truly personal.

Once we have the photos and some info, we get to work. We never print a montage without first showing a preview to the customer, who can then request changes if they like.

Montage 1st Draft

This is the first draft of this wedding montage. We showed this to the customer and they requested a few changes. The areas that were changed are highlighted, and you can see the finished version below:

The changes are subtle, but important. We want our customers to be 100% happy with the picture they receive, and this is why we like to work so closely with them.
